Good news! Some time ago I wrote about a small script I made for the OpenPsych journals. It is a way to display formatted citations on on a journal's website. Back then it wasn't pretty to implement. I have now revised the code for easier implementation.

1) To use the script just include the following scripts in the header of your .html file:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://code.jquery.com/ui/1.11.1/themes/smoothness/jquery-ui.css">
<script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.10.2.js"></script>
<script src="http://code.jquery.com/ui/1.11.1/jquery-ui.js"></script>
<script src="./js/cite.js"></script>

The first three lines are standard libraries for jQuery. The last line refers to the script I have written.

2) Place the following html where you want the button to appear:

<button id="citations">Cite this paper</button>

Now just press the button Cite this paper to see the dialog with the formatted citations.

You can get a copy of the script here and watch it in action here.
